Teendood

I understood my teenagehood through Tumblr, music, and the celebrities and musicians I looked up to. While working on this project, I acknowledged and reflected on the challenges I overcame during my teenage journey, like going through bullying and verbal abuse. In addition to not having a safe place in real life, I created and connected with an online community.

In this project, I re-created a time when many cultures and subcultures had no room for judgment. For instance, my collages combined soft grunge and indie soft aesthetics.

This project included images portraying my experiences of emotions like insanity and depression. I used photographs and collages to describe my journey of understanding people and objects that once held different meanings than they do now, exploring feelings like rainbows and sunshine, depression, storms, and snowstorms.
