This mini project explores the complexity of identity in one’s twenties—a period not defined by a single narrative, but by fluctuation, uncertainty, and the absence of a protective stereotype. Rather than offering clear answers, the work emphasizes the act of building an understanding of oneself through everyday experiences, choices, and reflections.
The layered elements within the piece invite reflection on the pressure to believe there is a “correct” way to exist in your twenties. As echoed in the lyric, “And now if everybody says these are the best years of our lives,” the work questions who gets to define what this time should look like, and what happens when reality does not align with expectation.
Entering a new chapter of life often brings an overwhelming sense of confusion. The tension between realistic and unrealistic goals complicates this transition, as past dreams collide with present limitations. The work sits within this uncertainty—between who you once imagined you would become and who you are still in the process of discovering—capturing the vulnerability, doubt, and quiet growth that define this stage of becoming.
